These volunteers contribute their vast professional and personal experience to guide the vision of ProCure as we work together to bring mindfulness, meditation and mental health and wellness services to communities in the Charlotte area.
Kevin McLeod is the Director of Development at the Trauma Resource Institute. His responsibilities include impact and evaluation, fundraising and marketing, and proposal development. Kevin also leads TRI’s equity, diversity, and inclusion work and participate as part of training teams. This work, along with the EDI Committee, centers around developing, supporting, implementing, and evaluating EDI strategies, content development, and programs serving Community Resiliency Model (CRM)® and Trauma Resiliency Model (TRM)® training team members and participants.

Deona M. Frierson, LCSW, NM-I is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified Imago Therapist, Amen Clinic Brain Health Coach and Certified NeuroMeditation Instructor. She is trained in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and a practitioner of Transcendental Meditation (TM). She is currently in private practice in Charlotte, North Carolina.
In 2008, Deona founded ProCure Therapeutic Agency, Inc., a Nationally Accredited Behavioral Health Organization offering quality, accessible Evidence-Based Mental and Behavioral Health Services to children, adolescents, and families. She is also the founder of The Excellent Marriage™ where she serves as a Relationship Expert and Certified Imago Therapist providing Marriage Intensives, Retreats, Seminars, and Therapy.

Malik Simon has an educational background in Mechanical Engineering, from East Carolina University. Malik currently working professionally as a Civil Inspector for the state of North Carolina’s Bridge and Highway Construction Project. Malik is passionate about the development of systems that help aid communities, the human mind, cultivating the mind for success, and being an instrument for his Lord and Savior. Malik enjoys working with teams to proactively produce solutions.
David has over a decade of experience working in the healthcare sector, including not for profit organizations. David has a Bachelors in Computer Science from Fayetteville State University and a Masters in Information Technology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNCC). David also obtained a Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management, which is part of the Master of Public Administration (MPA) curriculum at UNCC. David utilizes the knowledge and experience gained to support the mission of ProCure Agency, in particularly Program Evaluation, Internal Capacity Building and Reporting.
Gary D. McDougald is a graduate of Winston Salem State University from Lumberton, North Carolina. Gary has been a Financial Analyst over 2 decades and provides support to his customers with enthusiasm and financial integrity. Gary strives to be the best version of himself and believes in daily self-care and whole person well-being. Gary enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 sons, daily runs, lifting weights, sports, and documentaries.
Born in Charlotte, NC, Lynn graduated from Fayetteville State University with a degree in Mathematics and Physics and spent her first year working for Nortel Networks as an Equipment Application Engineer, Network Engineer, and System Application Engineer. In the mist of change, Lynn came across one of her callings and passion, teaching. Lynn taught Mathematics at Central Piedmont Community College and Forsyth Technical College for 11 years. In 2006, she graduated with her Masters in Health Promotion from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Lynn passions grew more in health and fitness. In 2013, Lynn began to pursue her Ph.D. in International Psychology with a focus in Organization at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Her research interest is how exercise affects psychological well-being among marginalized populations. In 2014, Lynn pressed through with her passion in health and fitness and became North Carolina Golden Gloves State Champion and US National Women Golden Glove Champion. In 2019, Lynn graduated with her Ph.D. in International Psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. In 2021, Lynn began her journey in educational research working with Fayetteville State University as a Post-Doctoral Research Assistant, to increase enrollment and completion of underrepresented, underprepared, or low-income students in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) degrees based on evidence of promise or “what works” initiative.
